manifesto
For the things you
almost said.
Why this exists.
Most words have a thousand homes — chats that never end, threads that loop back to themselves, screenshots passed around long after they were meant.
Some words don't want that.
Some words want one quiet hand to hold them, one quiet pair of eyes to read them, and then a clean disappearance. The apology you almost sent. The thank you you kept rewriting. The thing you wanted to say at a birthday before the noise. The goodbye you only got to halfway.
msgforyou is a small place for those words. You write something. We seal it in your browser, where even we can't read it. You share a single link. They open it once. After that, it's gone — from their screen, from our database, from the noise of every other app.
We don't want you here often. We want you here on the rare evening you have something true to say, and nowhere quiet enough to say it.
What this isn't.
This isn't a place to collect anonymous messages from strangers. It isn't a place to broadcast, to perform, or to be witty for an audience. There are good apps for those things; this isn't one of them.
This is for one person. Not your followers. Not the group chat. Not the algorithm. One person you've been meaning to say something to, who deserves to read it without it living forever in their phone — or in yours.
If you're here because you have an audience to feed, you'll be bored. If you're here because there's a name on your mind, this might be the place.
That's the whole thing.
